Itinerary:

Day 1 - Quito

Upon arrival in Quito, you'll be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel for check-in. After settling in, take some time to relax and unwind after your journey

Day 2 - Colonial town

Begin your exploration of Quito's highlights. Start your day with breakfast at your hotel before heading out to discover the city's main attractions. Begin with a visit to the Historic Center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its colonial architecture and churches such as La Compañía and San Francisco. Next, take a ride on the TelefériQo, a cable car offering panoramic views of the city and surrounding mountains. Finally, make your way to Mitad del Mundo, the equator line monument where you can straddle both hemispheres at once. After a day of exploration, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant featuring Ecuadorian cuisine before returning to your hotel for the night.

Day 3 - Rucu Pichincha

On Day 3, embark on a crucial acclimatization trek to Rucu Pichincha, a dormant stratovolcano situated just outside of Quito. This hike serves as vital preparation for the higher altitudes you'll face during your expedition.

Your journey begins with an early start, as you ascend Rucu Pichincha's slopes. Along the way, soak in breathtaking panoramic views of Quito and the surrounding Andean landscape. Throughout the journey, you'll experience elevations ranging from approximately 2,800 meters (9,186 feet) at the starting point in Quito to approximately 4,696 meters (15,410 feet) at the summit of Rucu Pichincha.

Day 4 - Cayambe

Departing from Quito at 11 am, our journey towards Cayambe unfolds amidst scenic landscapes and winding roads. A stop in Cayambe town offers a chance to enjoy a hearty lunch before we proceed to the National Park registry for permit finalization. Arriving at José Oleas Refuge, situated at approximately 4,600 meters (15,091 feet) elevation, dinner awaits at 5 pm. With the afternoon dedicated to rest and acclimatization, participants have the opportunity to recharge before the midnight departure.

Day 5 - Cayambe summit

Commencing our ascent to the summit of Cayambe at 1 am, we strategically depart slightly after others to avoid icy conditions, ensuring prime skiing conditions for our descent. By 8 am, we conquer the summit, reaching an elevation of approximately 5,790 meters (19,000 feet), guided by our expert mountaineer. After marking the descent route for a safe free ski down, we return to the refuge for breakfast. Following our achievement, we depart for Quito, situated at an elevation of approximately 2,800 meters (9,186 feet), ready to rest and reflect on our Cayambe adventure.

Day 6 - Quilotoa

Today's adventure combines exploration with cultural immersion as we embark on a journey to Quilotoa Lake, a stunning volcanic crater lake boasting mesmerizing turquoise waters. Situated at an elevation of approximately 3,914 meters (12,841 feet), Quilotoa Lake offers a tranquil setting for reflection and discovery.

After marveling at the natural beauty of Quilotoa Lake, we continue our excursion to Andina Huasi Lodge, nestled in the heart of the Cotopaxi region at an altitude of approximately 3,000 meters (9,842 feet). Operated by Cotopaxi natives, this charming mountain lodge provides a unique opportunity to experience local culture and hospitality.

As we settle into our accommodations, surrounded by panoramic views of the Andean landscape, we immerse ourselves in the rich cultural heritage of the region. From engaging with local residents to savoring traditional cuisine, today promises to be a memorable blend of exploration and cultural exchange.

Day 7- Antisana

Today, we embark on our journey to Antisana, where we will establish our basecamp for the upcoming ascent.

Leaving early in the day, we drive to the base of the mighty Antisana volcano, situated at an elevation of approximately 4,000 meters (13,123 feet). Upon arrival, we begin the process of setting up camp, ensuring our shelter is secure and equipped for the adventure ahead.

As evening falls, we gather in our campsite to enjoy a hearty meal prepared by our team. With the nourishment of a well-deserved dinner, we take the opportunity to rest and recharge our energy for the midnight departure.

Throughout the evening, we immerse ourselves in the tranquility of the mountain surroundings, savoring the anticipation of the challenges and triumphs that await us on the slopes of Antisana. As the stars illuminate the night sky above, we prepare ourselves mentally and physically for the ascent that lies ahead.

Day 8 - Antisana Summit

Under the veil of midnight, our ascent to the summit of Antisana commences, aiming to conquer its towering peak at approximately 5,704 meters (18,714 feet) above sea level. Guided by experienced mountaineers, we navigate the challenging terrain, culminating in a triumphant arrival at the summit at sunrise between 6-8 am.

From the summit, we savor the breathtaking vistas of the Andean landscape before embarking on an exhilarating ski descent back to basecamp. Following a nourishing breakfast, we bid farewell to Antisana and begin our journey to Riobamba, where our retreat awaits at the Hotel Hacienda Abras Pungo.

Nestled in the heart of Riobamba, Hotel Hacienda Abras Pungo provides a serene backdrop for relaxation and reflection. Here, amidst the tranquil surroundings, we unwind and rejuvenate, taking in the natural beauty of the region.

As the day draws to a close, we relish in the sense of accomplishment and camaraderie forged during our ascent of Antisana, eagerly anticipating the adventures that await us in the days ahead

From the summit, we bask in the panoramic views of the Andean landscape before embarking on an exhilarating ski descent back to basecamp. After a hearty breakfast, we bid farewell to Antisana and journey to Baños for a well-deserved relaxation amidst natural hot springs and verdant scenery. As we soak in the therapeutic waters and reflect on our achievement, the day concludes with a sense of accomplishment and anticipation for the adventures ahead.

Day 9 - Chimborazo Basecamp

After the exhilarating climb of Antisana and the journey to Riobamba, we begin our day with a well-deserved morning of rest and relaxation. With the tranquility of Riobamba surrounding us, we take this opportunity to rejuvenate our bodies and minds, preparing for the challenges ahead.

As the morning unfolds, we embark on a leisurely drive to Chimborazo Basecamp Lodge, situated at an altitude of 3,900 meters (12,795 feet). This scenic journey allows us to further acclimatize to the high altitude, ensuring that we are fully prepared for the ascent of Chimborazo.

Upon arrival at the lodge, we settle into our accommodations and take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Surrounded by the towering peaks of Chimborazo and the rugged beauty of the Andean foothills, we immerse ourselves in the serene ambiance of the high altitude.

Throughout the afternoon, we have the opportunity to explore the area surrounding the lodge, taking gentle walks and enjoying the crisp mountain air. As the sun sets over the horizon, we gather for a hearty meal, replenishing our energy for the challenges that lie ahead on the slopes of Chimborazo.

Day 10 - Chimborazo high camp

Following a midday briefing and assembling with our team at basecamp, our anticipation mounts as we embark on the next leg of our journey. Setting out from basecamp, we embark on a scenic drive to the national park carpark situated at an elevation of 4,800 meters.

From this point, our trek to Chimborazo High Camp at 5,300 meters commences, promising awe-inspiring views and exhilarating challenges along the way. As we traverse the rugged terrain, our spirits soar amidst the majestic beauty of the Andean landscape.

After two hours of trekking, we reach our destination: Chimborazo High Camp. Here, amidst the pristine wilderness, we gather for a well-deserved dinner at 5 pm, savoring the camaraderie of our team and the anticipation of the climb ahead. With the setting sun casting a golden glow upon the horizon, we take time to rest and recharge, preparing ourselves mentally and physically for the midnight ascent that awaits us.

Day 11 - Chimborazo summit

As the clock strikes midnight, our ascent to Chimborazo's summit begins from high camp. Traversing the glacier and overcoming the challenges of the terrain, we steadily progress towards our goal under the cloak of darkness. With each step forward, anticipation builds for the breathtaking views awaiting us at the summit.

Reaching the summit window between 6-7:30 am, we are greeted by the first light of dawn illuminating the surrounding peaks in a golden hue. Standing atop Chimborazo, the highest point in Ecuador, we celebrate our achievement and soak in the awe-inspiring panorama stretching before us.

With adrenaline coursing through our veins, we transition into the exhilarating descent, skiing down the glacier with skill and precision. Arriving back at basecamp, we indulge in a hearty breakfast, replenishing our energy for the journey ahead.

Following breakfast, we commence our descent from Chimborazo, trekking down the mountain and returning to basecamp. Here, we gather our belongings and bid farewell to the rugged wilderness, embarking on a journey to Baños for a well-deserved period of relaxation and reflection amidst the natural beauty of the region.

Day 12 - Baños

Today, enjoy a day of leisure in the charming town of Baños. Explore the town's natural attractions, indulge in rejuvenating hot springs, or embark on thrilling adventure activities. Whether it's relaxing in the healing waters or exploring the town's vibrant streets, Baños offers endless opportunities for enjoyment and relaxation amidst its stunning Andean setting.

Day 13 - Quito

After a leisurely morning in Baños, soaking in the last moments of its enchanting ambiance, we bid farewell to this picturesque town. Gathering our belongings, we embark on a scenic drive back to the airport, reminiscing about the unforgettable experiences and adventures shared during our time in Ecuador.

As we journey homeward, our hearts are filled with cherished memories of mountain summits conquered, breathtaking landscapes explored, and camaraderie forged amidst the beauty of the Andes.
