Itinerary

Day 1 Mendoza

Upon your arrival in Mendoza, take the opportunity to rest and acclimate to the vibrant atmosphere of this charming city. Nestled amidst vineyards and framed by the Andes, Mendoza offers a delightful blend of culture and natural beauty.

Later in the day, join a briefing session with your climbing company and guide. This session provides a valuable opportunity to discuss the upcoming trek, ensuring you're well-prepared and equipped for the adventure ahead.

Day 2 Penitentes

Today, embark on a private transfer from Mendoza to Penitentes, where the excitement of your Aconcagua journey truly begins. Upon arrival, register for the climb and collect essential permits and rental gear necessary for the expedition ahead.

After completing the registration process, unwind and recharge at a comfortable hotel in Penitentes, preparing yourself for the adventures that await in the days ahead.

Day 3 Confluencia Basecamp

Today, begin your Aconcagua adventure with a transfer from Penitentes to the entrance of Aconcagua Provincial Park. From there, embark on a trek to Confluencia, the first base camp of your journey.

Immerse yourself in the rugged beauty of the Andes as you trek through varied terrain, with the towering peaks of Aconcagua looming in the distance. After 4-5 hours of trekking, arrive at Confluencia Base Camp, where you'll settle in for the night amidst the awe-inspiring landscape.

Day 4 Plaza de Mulas

After 8-9 hours of trekking, arrive at Plaza de Mulas Base Camp, nestled in a vast valley beneath the towering peaks of Aconcagua. Here, you'll settle in for the night, surrounded by fellow adventurers and the anticipation of the challenges and triumphs to come.

Day 5 Aclimatization

Today is dedicated to acclimatizing to the altitude at Plaza de Mulas Base Camp, a crucial step in preparing for the challenges ahead.

Take advantage of the rest day to allow your body to adjust to the high altitude, ensuring you're well-prepared for the ascent. Engage in light activities around the campsite, such as stretching or gentle walks, to maintain circulation and aid acclimatization.

In the afternoon, embark on a short hike to Cerro Bonete, providing further opportunity for acclimatization and stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Take your time to soak in the beauty of the Andean peaks before returning to Plaza de Mulas for an overnight stay.

Day 6 Camp Canada Condor

Today, continue your ascent from Plaza de Mulas to Camp Canada, your first high camp on the Aconcagua expedition.

Embark on a challenging trek through rugged terrain, gradually ascending to higher altitudes. As you climb, take in the breathtaking vistas of the surrounding peaks and glaciers, immersing yourself in the awe-inspiring beauty of the Andes.

After 4-5 hours of trekking, arrive at Camp Canada, nestled amidst the towering peaks of Aconcagua. Here, you'll spend the night, preparing yourself for the next stage of the ascent and enjoying the tranquility of the high-altitude wilderness.

Day 7 - Sumit day

Trek to Summit

  • Trek time: 10-14 hours
  • Descend to Camp Canada for overnight stay

Day 8 - Reserve

Today serves as a contingency day for the summit in case of inclement weather or any unforeseen circumstances. This extra day ensures flexibility in the expedition schedule, allowing for a safe and successful ascent to the summit of Aconcagua.

Alternatively, if conditions permit and the summit has already been achieved, you can opt for a leisurely hike back to Plaza de Mulas. This provides an opportunity to further soak in the stunning scenery and reflect on the accomplishments of the expedition.

Regardless of the chosen activity, spend the night at Plaza de Mulas Base Camp, surrounded by the camaraderie of fellow climbers and the serene beauty of the Andean landscape.

Day 9 End of Expedition

Today marks the conclusion of your Aconcagua expedition. After breakfast at Plaza de Mulas Base Camp, embark on a trek back to Penitentes, retracing your steps through the rugged Andean terrain.

Upon reaching Penitentes, take a transfer back to Mendoza, where you can celebrate your achievement and unwind after the exhilarating journey. Whether it's enjoying a delicious meal, exploring the vibrant city, or simply relaxing at your accommodation, take this time to savor the memories of your Aconcagua adventure.
