Day 1 - Huaraz

Day 2 - Aclimatization

Today is dedicated to allowing your body to adjust to the altitude of Huaraz. As you acclimate to the higher elevation, you'll have a free day to explore the charming city at your own pace.

Take this opportunity to wander through the bustling streets of Huaraz, visit local markets, and immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of the Andean region. You may also choose to relax and enjoy the picturesque surroundings, perhaps indulging in a leisurely stroll or savoring a cup of traditional Andean coffee at a local cafe.

Elevation: While Huaraz itself sits at an elevation of approximately 3,050 meters (10,007 feet) above sea level, the surrounding peaks soar much higher, offering breathtaking views of the Andes Mountains.

Use this day to rest, hydrate, and acclimate, preparing yourself physically and mentally for the exhilarating trekking adventures that lie ahead. Our team will be available to offer any assistance or recommendations to ensure you make the most of your acclimatization day in Huaraz.

Day 3 - Trek starts

Our journey kicks off in Huaraz, where we'll ensure you're comfortably picked up from your hotel via private transportation. Setting our sights southeast, our first stop will be the quaint town of Chiquian, where we'll pause for a delightful 30-minute breakfast break.

From Chiquian, our adventure truly begins as we venture towards Cuartelhuain, our starting point for the day's hike. As we ascend, the landscape unfolds before us, offering mesmerizing views of the Huanuco region to the east. Our path leads us to the magnificent Cacananpunta pass, standing proudly at an altitude of 4,690 meters.

Here, amid the grandeur of the Andean peaks, we'll pause for a well-deserved lunch break. Our expert chef will prepare a delicious picnic, allowing us to refuel and soak in the breathtaking scenery. Marvel at the striking Pucacocha Lake, its waters tinged with a reddish hue from the iron minerals within.

As we continue our trek, be captivated by the awe-inspiring sights of Ninashanca, Rondoy, and the Huallanca mountain range dominating the horizon. Our journey culminates at Mitucocha camp, nestled at the base of these majestic peaks, where we'll settle in for the night.

Day 4 - Carhuacocha Camp

On the second day the hike reaches the Alcay Pass which is one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the circuit for its spectacular view of Siulá Grande, Yerupajá Grande and Chico, Jirishanca, Ninashanca, all by their wild and steep east faces. Then we head towards the Alcaycocha lake, very close to this place we will take our lunch break. Finally we descend to the beautiful Carhuacocha lake (4150 m) and in a few minutes we will be reaching our camp(Carhuacocha). At night nothing is better than watching the stars, the Milky Way nebula and its reflection on the Carhuacocha lake.

Day 5 - Huayhuash Camp

Prepare for an unforgettable day as we embark on one of the highlights of the Huayhuash circuit. Rise early to witness the breathtaking sunrise, casting a golden glow upon the towering peaks of the surrounding mountains, mirrored in the tranquil waters of Carhuacocha Lake.

As we soak in the mesmerizing views, we'll continue our journey, passing by the glistening turquoise lakes of Siula, Quesillococha, and Azulcocha. Each lake offers its own unique charm, inviting us to pause and marvel at the natural beauty that surrounds us.

Our path leads us to the majestic Siula Pass, offering panoramic vistas of the rugged Raura mountain range. Take a moment to immerse yourself in the serenity of this pristine wilderness, a perfect spot for contemplation and reflection.

A well-deserved lunch awaits us just a short distance from the Siula Pass, providing a welcome break amidst the awe-inspiring scenery. As we descend, we'll be treated to views of the picturesque Carnicero Lake before reaching our final destination for the day: the Huayhuash camp.

Day 6 - Elephant Valley

Our journey today leads us towards the awe-inspiring Trapecio Pass, promising unforgettable vistas and remarkable landscapes. After approximately 4 hours of trekking, we'll ascend to the summit of Trapecio Pass, where a breathtaking panorama awaits.

From this vantage point, feast your eyes on the majestic Trapecio Mountain and the picturesque lakes nestled below the towering peaks of Puscanturpa Mountain. Marvel at the rugged beauty of the surrounding Cordillera Raura, with peaks such as Cuyoc and Milpo adding to the dramatic backdrop.

As we make our descent towards the lakes, we'll pause to indulge in a well-deserved lunch amidst this stunning natural setting. Continuing along the trail, keep an eye out for fascinating rock formations, including a giant rock resembling an elephant and another resembling a mummy.

Our journey culminates at the Elephant Valley camp, where we'll settle in for the night amidst the tranquility of the Andean wilderness.

Day 7 - Cutatambo camp

Prepare for an extraordinary day as we ascend to the majestic Santa Rosa Pass, the highest point of our Huayhuash trek. This pass offers a privileged vantage point, granting us sweeping views of the entire trekking circuit below.

From the summit of Santa Rosa Pass, behold the breathtaking panorama unfolding before you. Feast your eyes on the crystalline waters of Jurao Lake, flanked by towering peaks including Sarapo, Siula Grande, Siula Chico, Yerupajá, and Rasac. This is a moment of pure awe, as we immerse ourselves in the splendor of the Andean landscape.

Following our descent from Santa Rosa Pass, we'll pause for a well-deserved lunch before continuing our journey. Descending further into the Quebrada Huayllapa, we'll be greeted by the serene beauty of the surrounding valley as we make our way to our campsite in Cutatambo.

Day 8 - Huayllapa Village

Embark on a picturesque descent through the captivating landscapes of Huayllapa Canyon. As we wind our way down, we'll be surrounded by lush Tarwi plants lining the trail, while the soothing melody of the Calinca River accompanies our journey.

Throughout the day, we'll be treated to a symphony of natural wonders, passing through scenic vistas, traversing Andean gates, and encountering enchanting waterfalls along the way. Our path will lead us to the quaint village of Huayllapa, where you'll have the opportunity to stock up on personal essentials such as hygiene supplies, medications, and beverages. Additionally, the village provides amenities such as Wi-Fi, hot showers, and charging outlets for electronic devices, ensuring a comfortable and convenient respite.

Day 9 - Gashapamba camp

Today's journey begins with an uphill trek from Huayllapa to Tapush Pass, offering picturesque views of verdant vegetation along the way. After approximately 5 hours of hiking, we reach the majestic Tapush Pass, where we'll pause for a well-deserved lunch amidst breathtaking vistas of Diablo Mudo Mountain (5350m) and the shimmering Susococha Lake below.

Descending from the pass, we continue our trail until we arrive at the elevated Gashpapampa camp (4,600m), marking the highest point of our entire circuit.

Continuing along the precipice of Huacrish Canyon, we'll be treated to awe-inspiring vistas of towering giants such as Yerupajá, the second highest peak in Peru, as well as Jirishanca, Rondoy, Siula, Tsacra, and Rasac. The trail leads us to the picturesque Huacrish viewpoint, a place of unparalleled beauty where we'll be mesmerized by the juxtaposition of the mountain range against the turquoise hues of Jahuacocha and Solterococha lakes.

Descending from this scenic vantage point, we'll make our way to the camp nestled at the serene shores of Jahuacocha Lake, where tranquility and natural splendor await.

Day 10 - Jahuacocha

Continuing along the precipice of Huacrish Canyon, we'll be treated to awe-inspiring vistas of towering giants such as Yerupajá, the second highest peak in Peru, as well as Jirishanca, Rondoy, Siula, Tsacra, and Rasac. The trail leads us to the picturesque Huacrish viewpoint, a place of unparalleled beauty where we'll be mesmerized by the juxtaposition of the mountain range against the turquoise hues of Jahuacocha and Solterococha lakes.

Day 12 - Huaraz

On our final day of trekking, we bid farewell to the stunning landscapes of the Huayhuash mountain range. Our journey begins with a hike to the Mancan Punta pass (4,550m), offering a last panoramic view of the northern part of the range.

Descending from the pass, we make our way to the quaint Pocpa village, where our transportation awaits for the transfer back to the city of Huaraz.
